No craft is as fun as something that appears really boutique but only takes less time than it takes to make a pumpkin spice latte, costs nothing, and looks boutique. If you have some old denim, flannel shirts, soft fabric ends, or something similar, you are already well on your way to making an adorable rustic fall garland for your fall mantel.

This one does not use a sewing machine! Simply gather some soft fabric ends, real acorn cups (available at a craft store or in the yard), cotton balls or polyfill for stuffing, hot glue, and rustic jute string.
The key to this craft’s speed is the bundle-and-glue technique. Rather than sewing the fabrics, simply cut them into small circles (2.5 inches is great for medium-sized acorn cups). Add a small amount of stuffing in the middle and then form the fabric into a small bundle. Then apply a generous amount of hot glue to the inside of the acorn and push the bundle of fabric into the acorn. This technique hides all the raw edges and gives you a full, vibrant acorn.

Once you have created a few of these mini acorns, begin attaching the tops of the acorns evenly spaced onto the jute string to create a rustic fall garland. Mix in some natural wood craft beads or dried oranges for a rustic boho farmhouse look. Hang this on a door, mirror, or fireplace, and you are ready for fall!
