Spin Master, the major toy company behind brands like PAW Patrol, Melissa & Doug, and the Rubik’s Cube, acquired Hapiko Inc., a Brooklyn-based startup focused on play technology. The company’s main product is Stickerbox, an incredibly popular device for children that uses kid-friendly AI to turn words into stickers. The popular product has sold out 13 times since it launched in late 2025.
Talking to Toys with Technology

To use Stickerbox, a child describes what they are imagining, the device listens, and then prints a crisp outline of that idea onto a sticker. Kids can then color, collect, and stick their creations wherever they want.
It uses ink-free technology, so there is no mess to clean up and no ink cartridges to maintain. Hapiko built the system to minimize passive screen time and encourage tactile, hands-on play.
“We want to empower kids to bring their biggest ideas into the real world,” said Christina Miller, Spin Master’s CEO. “By pairing Hapiko’s platform with our track record of innovation, we can accelerate our vision for the future of play, giving kids access to fun, creative tools to design and bring their imaginations to life in new ways.”

An Acquisition to Grow the Audience
Spin Master is a massive global operation with almost 2,500 employees across 29 offices worldwide. They already reach nearly 60 million active digital users every month through apps like Toca Boca and Piknik. By acquiring Hapiko, Spin Master plans to expand on Stickerbox and create even more products based on this technology.
“There’s nothing like a child’s imagination, how it sees the world and turns the everyday into magic,” said Arun Gupta, CEO of Hapiko Inc. “We built Stickerbox as a springboard for that creativity and by joining with Spin Master, we will have an even greater audience and platform for growth.”
